I Will Never Ever Forget How Belvoir Credit Union Helped Me
I came to Fort Belvoir Credit Union after living a life not becoming to most people. After cleaning up my life and my life style I began to focus on my credit. My credit was so bad that I was not able to open up a savings or checking account at any of the banks I applied at. My daughter who is the military referred me to Belvoir Federal Credit Union. I will never ever forget how then Belvoir Credit Union helped me. Not only did they allow me to open a checking and savings account but they asked me to apply for a small loan ($500.00) and also to write a letter to the loan officers and to the board stating why I was not credit worthy. As a result of that letter, the loan application submission for the $500.00 and the interest that a particular loan officer took in me, I have never looked back. My credit score is over 700 and I am able despite these trying times can for the most part obtain credit pretty anywhere. I speak about Belvoir Credit Union all of the time. The Staff At Belvoir Federal Was Friendly And Professional
Needed to take care of some personal business with the credit union. Did not want to enter personal information into the computer because I felt that my computer was not secure. I was able to get everything I needed done via the telephone. This saved me from making a trip to the credit union which would have taken me at least an hour or so not to mention sitting in the traffic. Managers Who Go Above And Beyond
I would like to commend Ms. Margarita Freeman from the Mount Vernon Branch. I was recently there due to the fact that I had lost my wallet and had no identification and needed to withdraw a small amount of money in order to get a drivers license from DMV, I had lost all forms of identification and had nothing. Ms. Freeman stated it is going to be no problem and she was very helpful, I have spoken with Ms. Freeman in the past and every time she has gone above and beyond to help me and I am glad there are still good people like Ms. Freeman who genuinely care and are helpful. I Was Pleased With His Approach
I think the best story I can share is the thoughtfulness of each representative in the Credit Union. I was feeling down on a particular day and I went to the Counter to get help. I wasn’t in a good mode but when Mike took me aside and talked to me about my situation and helped me to understand it, I was pleased with his approach. Refinancing My Auto
I was recently working with Faye Huntley concerning a new credit card when she mentioned the options for refinancing my truck with BFCU. Not did Faye save me money on the payment and total number of payments, she also put money into my saving account with the cash back feature I did not know about. Am I Happy? Oh My, YES!
I had a wonderful Toyota 4-Runner that gave up the ghost in September 2008. It was a great car and although it had 200,000 miles on it, I had hoped it would last a tad longer to give me time to make financial arrangements to replace it with something affordable. Sadly, that was not to be and the financing I had lined-up with the lender who financed the 4-Runner was just too high a price to pay. When I was offered a loan with Belvoir, I was stunned to see their rate was lower than anything I could get elsewhere and even better, Belvoir welcomed me into their “family” with a savings account and a deposit made by Belvoir. Am I happy? Oh my, yes. I have electronic access to my account, automatic payments, updates on my account and on other products Belvoir has available. I love being a member of the Belvoir Family! How Can We Help You Financially?
I received a surprise phone call from the credit union (Michael Kendra) asking me if there was anything that they could do to help my family and I out financially. I was speechless for a moment but I said yes there is something that you could do to help us out. I said, “We have 4 birthdays in November and, of course, Christmas coming up and it would help us if we could defer the payments of our 3 loans with you for 3 months, starting back with the payments in January”. They said that they would run it through their loan committee and let me know. The next day they called and said it was approved. They asked that my wife and I go to the Fort Belvoir branch, which is closest to our house, to sign the papers. We did that and it has been a great help to us. Thank you. ~David W. Member Since 1998
Belvoir Acts On Its Word. Wow! What A DEAL! BRAVO Belvoir!
My wife and I bought a car for an interest rate of 6.95%. We want to Belvoir and we got 5.24 for 72 month. Later on we find out that we qualify for a lower rate with our fuel efficiency car and guess what we were down to 4.99% for interest rate. Last week I read that we can even get better because we pay our loan by direct deposit. Though we have not got it now but I trust my bank. Belvoir act on its word. Wow! What a DEAL! I Am One Happy Member… Wanna Know More, Ask Me!
I have been a Member of the Credit Union for over 10 Years now. They enabled me to buy a car with a pre-approved letter, that really helped me in my auto buying selection. They have financed TWO of my cars and I have had a CD at a MUCH better rate then the bank. The customer service is GREAT!! I always tell people to go to the Credit Union and BFCU is by far one of the best. The online service is great. I filled out loan application online, I received a call that SAME DAY. Even if you get bad news, like a loan wasn’t approved, its okay… but the service was good. That happen once with a home loan I was trying to get, but then I was able to obtain a collateral loan for less money but they STILL HELPED… and isn’t that what’s important. Credit Unions Are There For Us
Dear Credit Union Members… I have been a member since 1988. I have had some problems, I have never felt that the credit union was not there there for me, case in point I live about 20 miles from Galveston, as you know Ike made a real mess here a year ago Insurance companies are bad companies, I had damages to my home,( a hole in the roof) Allstate took about 2 months to even get out to look at it, to make a long story short, I made a call to the credit union Spoke with Fran Hoffman told her what my problem, was told that she would get back to me the next day or so. About 4 hrs later that day she called back to find out if there was a Fax machine so that I could sign the Papers. I know that times are tough and trust is at a all time low but the Credit Union is there for us. I thank the people that I have dealt with for years at Belvoir Federal Credit Union. ~Michel D. Live In Fredricksburg, But They Are The Reason I Stay With Belvoir
I’ve been with BFCU for 15 years. I do not have one bad thing that ever happen with the credit union. They always bend over backwards to help me even if it not their mistake. The staff in Woodbridge is GREAT!! Belinda, Fran, Mel and Stefanie Should all be given a RAISE!!! I think if you need someone to train your staff, you should get a input from these ladies how to take care of a customer . They are the Only reason I stay here. I live in Fredricksburg, with no branch . I still have stayed with Belvoir thru it all. No bank (or person) could ever touch the customer service that these ladies give. I Love My Credit Union
I was getting my finances in order because I hoped to buy a house. I went in to speak with an advisor because I had no clue where to begin. She was friendly and very helpful. I told the advisor that I didn’t like to pay ATM fees. By the end of the day she had signed me up for CUXcel, changed my credit card over to a platinum card because of my credit score, and set up an overdraft loan so that I couldn’t overdraft my new CUXcel account. Putting More Money In Our Member’s Pockets
I had a credit card that had a terrible interest rate (29.9%!) and the credit card company would not work with me to lower it. Desperate, I came to Belvoir CU to see if they could at least offer me half that rate and they did better than that…they gave me a 13% loan! Now you may think that that’s not a good rate, but with my credit score that’s a phenomenally great deal for me. They took a chance on me and they’ve helped me keep more money in my pocket. Also thanks to them, I’ve managed to make a dent in my debt that I never could have without their help. Grateful To Have Belvoir Credit Union Apart Of My Moving And Transition Experiences
Before transferring to Active Duty from the National Guard, I had done my banking with Bank of America. When I moved from Florida to Virginia, my bank was unable to get any of my contact information correct and this went on for almost a year. It was then that I had decided to go with Belvoir Federal Credit Union . . . the first credit union I have ever been with. From my assignment in Virginia to Germany, and then back home to Florida when I got out, I had a smooth transition to and from each location when I needed my banking services. Relocating can be an issue, but having a bank be able to keep up with your relocation(s) can be stressful enough.
